Ane Enderud takes top spot in the Freeride World Rankings after a solid performance and 5th Place in Squaw Valley, 'Tram Face'
Despite the long haul flight and changeable weather conditions that forced the second day of the competition to be cancelled, our own Ane Enderud keep at the head of the pack in this years challenge for the Freeride World Title. After the first day Ane was in fifth place, happy and eager to move up the ranks on the proposed second days skiing, just as she did in Sochi Russia. Rain and unstable snow conditions caused the event to be cancelled so the positions after the first run counted and Ane was kept in fifth spot. Despite this, due to her amazing run in Chamonix and her winning that competition, she heads the World rankings by a staggering 1000 points over nearest rival, Marja Persson(SWE).
Ane told us, she is delighted with the Golden Bib, if a little surprised. In her first run she missed an all important third jump that may have seen her higher up the rankings and almost untouchable going into the 3rd stage in Tignes this weekend. Ane has enjoyed being in the US having plenty of time to catch up with both new and old friends, recuperating and preparing for the next phase.
Ane will now return to Chamonix, touch base with RSM before heading to Tignes this weekend to do her best to stay ahead of the competition. |
