Ane Enderud, Freeride World Champion |

Ane Enderud braved the bitter cold and extreme variable snow conditions to win the Nissan Freeride Verbier Extreme resulting in becoming the World Ladies Freeride Champion 2009.
Ane's run comprised of 5 jumps around the rocks and mixed snow of the 'Petite Bec de Rosses'. Ane skied after Caroline Meynet, also challenging for the title and then had to wait nervously while Jess, Elyse and Marja interpreted the face to see if her run was going to be strong enough for the top spot and therefore the FWT Title.
As the wind strengthened and the cloud closed in, the event organisers gathered the crowd and riders together to deliver the result. As Ane, Klaus(Father), Are(Brother), Berengere(Moroc) and myself huddled together to keep warm shaking with both the cold and nerves the riders positions were announced. Jess and Marja were drawn in joint second place, and with Ane's name yet to be announced the moment began to build, this was to be the defining moment of Ane's season, something she had both dreamed about and prepared hard for over the last 2 winters and a summer climbing and biking in Chamonix. Ane was announced winner of the Verbier Extreme and therefore, Freeride Ladies World Champion. We are super proud of Ane and hope that she can enjoy this moment for a long time to come. We are pleased to have helped support realising her dream and are looking forward to her returning to Cham' for a well earned rest and the next chapter in her career.
